Session four involves the Divine Renovation Coach and preachers discussing the structure and focus of their missional homily. A key part of developing a missional homily is having a specific focus or outcome of the message along with a structure that helps to keep the material that is being developed inline with the focus. At this point in the development of a missional homily, the preacher will begin to think about the passage that was studied, andbegin to shape the outline of what he wants the message to follow. This will result in the preacheridentifyinghow personal reflections can orient the listener to what is being said, bring the listener to identify with the message being preached, and illuminate how the message challenges and changes the lives of those who hear it.
